Lao Wedding Costumes

The wedding costumes for both the groom and the bride are made of silk. The bridal costume is made of beautiful colors and sophisticated patterns and usually hand-weaved.

The costume set includes silk top, ceremonial sash, and sinh (traditional skirt/tabular skirt).
The hair of the bride is tied up into a bun and decorated with traditional style jewelry.

The groom’s costume is also made of silk. The groom oftentimes wears white or crème or light gold silk top to match with the silky sheet which is folded into traditional pants style.

The color of the costumes of the groom and the bride should match to present unity and beauty.
